Safety comes first.
Stay away from water near electrical equipment, unstable ceilings, sewage, or other unsafe areas. If you smell gas, leave and contact the gas utility or emergency services from a safe location. Do not wait for a website or WhatsApp response.
Active water leak?
If you know where the appropriate water shutoff is and can reach it safely, shutting off the supply may help limit further damage. Do not force a stuck valve or enter a hazardous area. Tell the answering team whether water is still escaping.
Wastewater backing up?
Stop using affected fixtures and appliances that add wastewater to the system. Keep people and pets away from sewage. A plumbing repair may need to be followed by separate cleanup or restoration.
Make the first conversation useful.
Share your city and state, the affected room, when the problem began, and any immediate hazards. Ask about availability, the estimated arrival window, assessment charges, and whether the initial visit is for a temporary measure or a permanent repair.
